Who do you cheer for?

25 Oct

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day.  Nothing deep or life changing…just talking about sports, big surprise right?  And we were talking about the World Series and who we were cheering for.  I personally am cheering for the collapse of baseball…it is slow and boring and it takes up to much time on Sportscenter.  That is just me…but honestly I choose who I cheer for based on the story lines.

Three Cheers for:  Josh Hamilton, outfielder for the Texas Rangers…who are currently leading in the World Series 3-2.  He overcame a sketchy past and a drug addiction to become an elite player in the Major Leagues.  He was touted as a can’t miss prospect who spiraled out of control until he hit rock bottom…but that isn’t where his story ended….Check this out.  Go Josh Hamilton.

Three Cheers for:  Danny Woodhead, running back for the New England Patriots…a true underdog story.  Played college football at a small D-II school in the great state of Nebraska.  Danny attended the Assembly of God youth camps in Lexington, NE.  Where he continually whipped Arjay, at basketball.  Danny is small in size, but he serves a BIG God.  Go Danny Woodhead.

Three Cheers for:  Tim Teabow, have you heard of this guy.  I’m going to come right out and say it.  I want this guy to succeed because of his faith and his bold proclamation of Jesus Christ.  He has got to be the most polarizing athlete in sports today.  You either love him or you hate him.  And I’m no NFL expert that is for sure. But I would love to see him have a great NFL career and win a couple of Super Bowls.  I love his testimony and what he stands for.  Go Tim Teabow.

What about you…who are you cheering for?
