Goals are extremely important we all know that.  Most of us are just content to float through life and our jobs if we don’t have goals.  We need something to shoot for…what do they say, “If you aim for nothing you will get nothing every time.”  Maybe they don’t say that, but they should start.

So I think that I need to set some goals for the Thanksgiving holiday…maybe you ought to set some Thanksgiving goals as well.

1.  I have a goal to spend at least two full days in my pajamas.  That means no shaving…no showering…and no brushing teeth.

2.  I have a goal to sleep until noon on black Friday.  I figure somebody should try and make up for all the sleep that crazy black Friday shoppers lose when the stores open at 4 a.m.  I don’t yet know how I’m going to accomplish this one with four young kids, but not all goals should be easily acheivable.  I plan to utilize…Dora videos…grandparents…and maybe even a fake “headache.”

3.  I have a goal to eat an entire pumpkin pie.  Now I don’t plan on doing this in one sitting…I’m gonna pace myself.  But before Thanksgiving is over I will “own” that Pumpkin pie.  I’m not sure exactly how I’m going to convince the rest of the family to stay out of the pie…possibly a well placed sneeze will do the trick…however that won’t work on my kids.  Ok, I haven’t worked out all the details yet.  But that is why they are goals…

I’m thankful for Thanksgiving…and now that I have a plan in place I believe that I will make the most of the holiday.  Bring it on.

P.S.   Sorry if you were expecting a spiritual twist at the end of this!
